First of all I wanted to say thank you to all of the parents who came to our Open House last night! It was such a fun evening and a really great way to get to know all of you and to feel like a part of this amazing ISM community.
Thank you also to those of you who were able to make it to our first Assembly this morning! Our class did a very brief little presentation about the 7 continents and they did a fabulous job! School assemblies will take place each month and the dates can be found on our school calendar on Weebly.
Next week we will be taking our first field trip to the Marche Central. This trip is part of our Unit of Inquiry into “Where We Are in Place and Time”.
Specifially, the students will be looking for examples of how our lifestyle here in Caablanca is affected by our geographical location. For example, they will notice that we have lots of fresh fish and vegetables available here and that certain materials are used to make handcrafts like baskets, shoes, etc.
We will be accompanied by our language teachers so this trip will also be an authentic Arabic and French experience in which the students will hear vocabulary used in the real world. The permission slip is in your child’s folder- please sign and return it along with 20 dirhams for the bus by next Wednesday.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
Have a wonderful weekend!
