This week your children will be taking MAP tests. The MAP Growth is a computer adaptive test created by NWEA that our ISM learners will take three times this school year. The results provide teachers with information to help us deliver appropriate content for each learner and determine each one’s academic growth over time. The data from the MAP tests help learners and teachers to set goals. They also give a clear picture of where the child is academically, which is useful for ISM, as well as other schools that your child may transfer to. MAP Growth helps schools and teachers know what your child is ready to learn at any point in time.
“Computer adaptive tests adjust to each student’s learning level, providing a unique set of test questions based on their responses to previous questions. As the student responds to questions, the test responds to the student, adjusting up or down in difficulty.”

Year 1/2 MAP tests will be taken in 4, 30-minute sessions so that the students do not have to sit for a long period. The tests will be on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10:30-11:00. There is no way to study for the tests, but there are ways you can support your learner to be prepared for testing:
Thank you for your continued support!
