I hope you all had a lovely fall break! This week we will be continuing our Unit of Inquiry- Who We Are. Students have made small family trees in class and will be bringing home some questions for you to answer this weekend!
In Maths we are using non-standard units of measurement to measure and compare length and height. The students have really enjoyed measuring themselves, each other and everything in our classroom.
In Literacy we continue to use the Daily 5 framework and will be focusing on fluency and phonics skills. A big part of fluent reading is being able to recognize sight words- or "heart words" as we call them in class because you need to learn them by heart. Look for these to come home in folders this week as well so that your child can practice them at home- this should be a non-stressful activity and take no more than 3 minutes a day!
Please join us for a special Moroccan lunch this Friday, 10 November to celebrate Moroccan heritage Month!
Thank you for your continued support and as always please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
