I hope you all had a lovely long weekend. The children did a wonderful job this morning writing about what they did over the break.
There is a permission form in your child’s folder today; we will be going on a field trip this Friday to see a play at Le Studio des Arts Vivants. Please return the signed form and payment by this Thursday so your child can attend.
This Wednesday there is no school for the children as we have our conferences. Thank you to those who have already signed up. If you have not already done so, please sign up so we can meet to discuss your child’s work and progress. Your child must attend this conference with you as they will be doing most of the sharing! If you cannot bring your child on Wednesday, please email me and we can set up another time either before or after school one day. We are busy reflecting on what we have learnt so far, things that are easy and hard for us, and things we would like to learn next. The children are excited to share these things with you on Wednesday.
Next Monday is our first student council organised “No Uniform Day”! It will cost students 20 dirhams to participate; the funds raised will go towards the purchase of a new camera for the student council. Students do not have to participate; they can choose to wear their uniforms and not pay 20 dirhams. The school dress code in the Parent Student Handbook will still apply (ie. respectful attire, no inappropriate slogans).
Our Winter Show is next Thursday, 14 December at 7:00 pm. The students have been working very hard in music to prepare some lovely performances for you. Students must arrive by 6:45. There will also be a bake sale at the show.
Our winter clothing and blanket drive will continue until the holiday so please continue sending in items if you have them.
Technology is all around us and knowing how to use it is an important life skill. That’s why this week our class is joining in on the largest learning event in history: The Hour of Code, a global movement reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries. For more information about how you can participate in Hour of Code with your child, please visit https://hourofcode.com/ma/gb.
I hope you have a wonderful week!
