Last Friday was a fun culmination of our Literacy Week celebration. Many students came dressed as a favourite book character; all students shared about their favourite books. We also had a relay book trivia race in our houses. Fun was had by students and teachers alike. I am working to upload some pictures to our photos page.
The students are very excited about our trip this Wednesday to Rabat to visit the Maroc Telecom Museum. This trip will support our learning in our unit How the World Works and will act as our final activity before we begin our next unit. We will be looking at how understanding sound has led to technological advances. The students have been hard at work finishing their instruments. They will present them to the class this week.
In maths we are finishing our units on multiplication and converting measurements. In writing we are beginning to look at literary devices, beginning with alliteration; we will continue discussing word choice and sentence fluency as well.
As stated in Mr Moniz’s email earlier, next Wednesday, 21 March, there will be no school for the students. We will hold our second round of student-led conferences. This will be a time for your child to share their learning and progress with you. You will receive an email with a link to sign up for a conference time later this week.
I hope you have a wonderful week!
