Our week has gotten off to a busy start! We continue to be excited about our unit of inquiry, How We Organise Ourselves. We will be having a ‘Market Day’ where the students will be selling items that they have made. They brainstormed and began to develop their possible product designs. We continue to look at goods and services and we will be discussing supply and demand. We have looked at many child entrepreneurs and the students are very inspired. They may need help at home over the next week either preparing their product or gathering supplies. I will send individual emails as your child develops and finalises their product idea.
In maths we continue to learn about fractions and we are solving problems about money. You can help your child develop a strong understanding of money by having them help you with shopping, payments and making change.
In literacy we are beginning to look at persuasive writing. This will tie in with our unit of inquiry, as the students will have to persuade others to purchase their product.
Next week we will be celebrating Earth Week. There are several exciting learning activities that we have planned for the week, one of which is a field trip to clean up the beach. A permission form will be coming home shortly. There will also be a morning assembly on Friday, 27 April where we will share some of our Earth Week learning.
I hope you have a wonderful week!
