This week we will begin our second unit of inquiry in the PYP trans-disciplinary theme of Who We Are. Our central idea is: The effective interactions between human body systems contribute to health and survival. The lines of inquiry are:
1. Body systems and how they work
2. How body systems are interdependent
3. The impact of lifestyle choices on the body
The key concepts that we will look at are function, connection and responsibility. During this science unit we will explore the skeletal, muscular, respiratory and digestive systems and we will discuss how to be healthy and nutrition.
We will be working on using place value to add 2 and 3 digit numbers and subtracting from a 2 or 3 digit number. In Daily 5 we will be looking at non-fiction books and exploring fact vs opinion.
I hope you have a wonderful week!
