We have a short but exciting week this week. Tomorrow is Halloween! The students are very excited. They may come to school in costumes but please do not send any toy weapons (swords, knives, guns, etc.). We will have a whole school dance at 2:30; it should be great fun! Thank you to all the parents who are sending in treats and/or decorations!
Please note that there is no school for Autumn Holiday from Thursday 2 November to Monday 6 November. School resumes on Tuesday 7 November.
We are working on our Who We Are unit. We have ‘tuned in’ and discussed our central idea (The effective interactions between human body systems contribute to health and survival.) and now we are going to be addressing our first line of inquiry (body systems and how they work). This week we are focusing on the skeletal system. We will be using multiple sources (books, videos, diagrams, apps) to take notes and learn about each system. There are some videos below if your child would like to watch them.
We will be working on properties of 2D and 3D shapes and lines of symmetry this week in maths. In Daily 5 we will continue looking at non-fiction books, discussing text features and exploring fact vs opinion.
I hope you have a wonderful week!
