Thank you for supporting our musicians and actors at the Winter Show last Thursday. What talent! Huge “thank yous” also go out to the people who supported the Students’ Council bake sale and Charity Sale of student-made ornaments, cards and cookies. I don’t have totals for either of these fundraisers, but I know your contributions made a difference!
Last Friday’s pajama day was another wonderful event enjoyed by all ISM ROCKS!!
In the next few days your learner will have some tasks to finish up. Please ask him or her about the writing (holiday roll-a-story), the maths algebra review and quiz, and understanding of the central idea of the unit of inquiry (“Rituals, traditions and artefacts provide a window into the beliefs and values of cultures.”). In addition, all students have been tasked with taking a photo of an artefact and emailing it to me. Each student must be able to speak about the significance of the artefact in relation to a ritual or tradition. This was last week’s assignment, and is due this Wednesday at the latest (email@example.com). Thank you to the students who have already sent it to me J
Remember that after school activities will begin after the winter holiday, so choices must be submitted this week. It looks like a lot of great activities for our students!
This week is a short week, with the holiday beginning after school on Wednesday! I hope that you all have a beautiful holiday with family and friends. Stay safe and healthy. Remember that whether you travel or not, having a good book for the holidays is an fabulous way to explore new places, meet interesting characters and enjoy some quiet time. We have many great titles (including new books) in our library for your reader to enjoy.
Here is a fun challenge for the holiday … take a photo of your child reading in an interesting place over the holiday, and submit it to me. I will attempt to create a video or slideshow highlighting our ISM readers!
See you next year!
