Hello June - the gateway to SUMMER!
With only 3 weeks of school left, and the end of term on Thursday, this week is going to be busy!
The International School of Morocco’s first PYP Exhibition is being held this year on Wednesday, June 6th. In the final year of the PYP, students, carry out an extended, in-depth, collaborative project known as the PYP exhibition. Jihane, Omar, Sadio, Raneem, Ilyas and Elias have been working hard for the past 5 weeks, and now will showcase their understanding of the elements of the IB Primary Years Programme. We are very proud of the skills they have learned through this journey. They will be exhibiting their central ideas and lines of inquiry for the ISM community between 8:30 and 12.
The Year 5 students are having a mini-exhibition on Friday. They will be showcasing their unit central idea and lines of inquiry about an animal or plant they have chosen. Each student is busy preparing their information and choosing how best to present it. I am very excited to see their work!
The Year 5 writing prompt is due on Friday. It is a free-write that is an opportunity for each writer to demonstrate their fabulous writing skills. It is due on Friday but may be emailed to me earlier.
This week’s maths focus is on area and perimeter. The students have been given a real-life project to demonstrate their understanding of the concepts. Their task, The Rising Phoenix Project, is to design and create a blueprint of a new ISM school building. Our Year 5/6 architects have been given all of the details, but I will also post them on Seesaw and in the maths section of Weebly so you have access to them. Talking about this project with your child may spark extra creativity and enthusiasm. It is due on Friday.
