Dear Parents of Year 5 and/or 6 Learners,
This week your children will be taking MAP tests. The MAP Growth is a computer adaptive test created by NWEA that our learner will take three times this school year. The results provide teachers with information to help us deliver appropriate content for each learner and determine each one’s academic growth over time. The data from the MAP tests help learners and teachers to set goals. They also give a clear picture of where the child is academically, which is useful for ISM, as well as other schools that your child may transfer to. MAP Growth helps schools and teachers know what your child is ready to learn at any point in time.
“Computer adaptive tests adjust to each student’s learning level, providing a unique set of test questions based on their responses to previous questions. As the student responds to questions, the test responds to the student, adjusting up or down in difficulty.” If you would like more information, please either email me or take a look online: https://www.nwea.org/parent-toolkit/
Year 5/6 MAP tests will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 11-12. There is no way to study for the tests, but there are ways you can support your learner to be prepared for them:
**P.S. - Your child's P.E. teacher has noticed that not all children are bringing hats to school. All children are outside in the sun for their sports and need a hat.
Thank you for your continued support. Have a fabulous week!
